  Friendly staff, reasonably priced, there's a bar on board and it might not be the lap of luxury but you know what you are getting and where you are going.

  Dealings with the office were unfriendly, and unhelpful. We paid for secured carparking for our car & trailer for our 11 day trip to North West Island. When we got there, the carpark was closed so we gave the keys to VMR Gladstone who then took them to the Curtis Ferry office. Despite our sat-phone call to the office, the car remained unsecured at the boat ramp for the duration of our trip, only to be moved 10 minutes before our barge arrived back on the mainland. The attitude of office staff was very unknowledgeable and unhelpful. They couldn't care less. The trip itself on the barge was uneventful, although we didn't receive a safety briefing, which I believe is mandatory. The attitude of the office is really that they couldn't care less. They have a captive audience, ie they're the only barge going to North West Island, so they don't have to provide any good customer service.

  Fantastic 2 hours on the coffee cruise, very informative. Gladstone Tourist Information Centre at the marina have all the details.
